- Leafy green vegetables – leafy vegetables are a great source of B vitamins, fiber, calcium, vitamin C, vitamin K, and iron. Some of the leafy green vegetables that you should eat are spinach, kale, romaine, arugula, bok choy, Swiss chard, and greens. Stay away from lettuces like iceberg, which has very little nutritional value.
- Colorful fruits and vegetables – carotenoids, give these fruits and vegetables their bright colors. These help rid your body of the remaining alcohol and help you recover faster. Some examples are berries such as raspberries and strawberries, papaya, bell peppers, tomatoes, carrots, and apricots.
- Complex carbohydrates – like proteins these boost your metabolism and provide you with energy. This can help combat the fatigue and aid in your digestion. This also helps to flush the alcohol from your system. Some good complex carbohydrates are legumes, lentils, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, and whole grains. You should stay away from simple carbs such as white sugar, white grains, and potatoes.
